Guests are welcome to use the kitchen or it can be closed off and your dedicated private chef will prepare sumptuous local or international meals.

An oversized family room with an overhead movie projector, Sonos sound system, books and games and guest bathroom leads to an outdoor terrace with a billiards table and custom-designed sofas that overlooks the pool and the extensive, private garden. LOCATION

Located in the residential enclave of Umulas, Banjar Kuwum is a small village surrounded by rice fields that although not far, feels a world away from the party scene and is ideally located to visit Bali’s famous beaches, and some of the island’s best restaurants, with easy access to Ubud, Canggu and neighbouring Seminyak.

BEDROOMS

Villa Damai offers 5 spacious bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms combined under one roof. With four King-size suites and one twin, which adjoins the master suite, this is a perfect holiday home for friends travelling together and families with older children. It’s also ideally suited for intimate garden weddings, family reunions and celebrations of all kinds.

The upstairs Master bedroom is a dream for couples with a beautifully decorated king-sized bed, a private balcony with a wooden bathtub, a dressing room and an indoor/outdoor bathroom, it overlooks the large back garden which is romantically lit at night. It also connects to the spacious twin bedroom, Salome, which overlooks the front garden and has its own entrance, ensuite bathroom and dressing area.

Also overlooking the back garden, another king-sized suite, Sasha’s, is complete with a mosquito net, seating area, a spacious wardrobe with a desk and a stunning ensuite bathroom. At the front of the villa, Thomas is another king-sized suite is surrounded by windows with views of the mature trees in the front garden. It also features a beautiful custom-made bamboo credenza, private ensuite bathroom and dressing area.

Finally, the Guest Suite is located on the ground floor. A beautiful, airy double bedroom overlooking the front garden, with an ensuite bathroom, full-length curtains, small terrace and garden access, it’s perfect for those who find the stairs a challenge.

Soft furnishings and custom built-ins at Villa Damai have been created by some of Bali's leading designers with a nod to the very best tropical architecture and interior design. Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass doors the spaces can be opened to allow the natural breezes to float through the house or fully air-conditioned while still taking advantage of the beautiful light that filters through the trees.

Things to see and do:

Just 3.6 kilometres from Canggu and the lively La Brisa beach club, Como Beach Club and popular restaurants including Mason, Luma, Luigis, Skool Kitchen at the Lawn at Ji Terrace at the Tugu Hotel.

Berawa is another hot spot for surfing, beach clubs and restaurants including Finn’s Beach Club, Mosto, Indigo and many more. Finn’s Recreation Club offers great kid’s activities including a water park, trampoline and tennis centre.

Spend the day in Uluwatu exploring the stunning white sand beaches, less than 20 kilometres from the villa. Beach Clubs like Karma Beach and Sundays are perfect for families and groups and the stunning Uluwatu temple offers sunset Kecak dances, a cultural highlight for many visitors.

Also within 20 kilometres of the villa is the wellness and art centre of Bali, Ubud. Explore palaces and galleries, fine restaurants like Locaovore and Room4Desssert or ride the rapids with Bali Adventure Tours.

Closer to home there are some beautiful walks through the rice terraces, neighborhood pubs like The Plumbers Arms and a host of local warungs and markets.
